Finished watching Jericho. This was a nice post-graduate school treat as I enjoyed the first episodes I watched when it first came out and then couldn't continue watching because of my busy schedule - internship at the hospital, school most nights, and you have to do at least some homework sometimes. At first thought that the alternate unaired ending might be a bit more complete if they didn't know the show would be canceled again so I watched that version first. Then to compare I watched the aired version which it turns out was actually more closed off. Of course both leave room for many adventures in the future. Pleasantly both were really good but I actually liked the aired version better. I love Jake's response to Hawkins statement that the mission is the only thing that matters. No it isn't, Jake says and it defines the message that the whole show is about, espechially the second season. What really matters is being there and protecting your friends, regardless of whether you look at friendship in the broad sense of your neighbors and community, or the more intimate friendships with whom you share your life.

Probably wouldn't have gotten to watch it if I hadn't found season 2 @ Walmart for $20. After a two year hiatus I've finally been reinitiated in the phenomenon that is Walmart since we didn't have any good ones in Chicago but there is definately one here in Henderson. So I bought season 2 there and then ordered season 1 from Amazon since that was where you could currently get it cheepest. Then once season one arrived I started watching and like I said today I finished. My favorite couple from the show is actually Mimi and Stanley although obviously Skeet Ulrich as Jake is totally adorable. Who wouldn't want him. But really the show never really focuses on his relationship with Emily, in fact Emily almost abondons their relationship for her relationship with Roger. In that way Jake's character is kinda one-sided as the warrior hero. There's some about his relationship with his family, brother, father, mother, but even there we never really get the confrontation that's really needed and it's the same with his relationship with Emily. For all that he never gives up, not even on his frindship with Stanley when he is tortured for days without end, we don't see him fight for these relationships. Stanley and Mimi on the other hand really change and grow and develope and become the loving pair that they are at the end. Jake doesn't really change. He was the brooding bad-boy turned hero/leader at the begining and that's what he is at the end. Not that you really need to change when your practically perfect in every way, but it's unusual to have a series where the main character is so - set. Would totally go out with him though. Sigh, am smitten yet again.

Love Skeet in Jericho!
Agree with your post that Jake never really changed much. I hoped he would grow more through out the series, but he did get hotter looking so that was a plus. Have you joined the Capturing Skeet forum and checked out the gallery of 15,000+ photos of Skeet? It's at www.capturingskeet.com and there are 100+ members already. Lots of Jericho fans and other Skeet Ulrich fans there. Great group of people. Come join the fun!

Was a refreshing series with a kicker idea. Loved the idea of being cut-off from the world. Touching on the theme of sharing your life, protecting your family, showing that you love them, I found a site where you share your life called Senterna (www.senterna.com)
If you're ever going to be cut off from life, friends and family, you can record content for them there and release it to them when you are gone.
Be assured that, should an asteroid hit you tomorrow, your loved ones would have a lasting legacy of your life and future-proof content to remember you by.

The fight for Jericho continues!
The fight to save Jericho is not over.

The fans have already put ads in The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, a billboard in Los Angeles, and have aired TV ads in the Los Angeles area. They've also brought attention to the inadequacy of the Nielsen rating system and have had various charitable activities.

CBS Paramount is in talks with other parties to continue Jericho and they want to hear from the Jericho fans.

Please write to: Ms. Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group, 4024 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA 91604-2190.

Re: The fight for Jericho continues!
Please send a letter to Nancy Tellem saying you would like to see Jericho continue. It doesn't have to be a long letter, in fact mine go out on cards.

All letters are welcoem and CBS Paramount is using the continue writing campaign as a way to show buyers that Jerihco still has an audience.
